Lee Wolf is the new president of Rotary Middleton

Date published: 13 July 2021

Lee Wolf has been named the president of Rotary Middleton for 2021/22, succeeding Bev Yarwood.

Rotary Middleton confirmed the change of president during the group’s annual assembly meeting on Tuesday (6 July).

In his acceptance, Lee acknowledged the fantastic work Bev had completed as president in the exceptional circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout this period, Rotary Middleton continued to help local good causes. Although unable to run the usual Father Christmas Float, they still raised funds for sharing with the community through online Christmas activities.

Speaking about Rotary’s plan for the upcoming year, Lee said: “We have an ambitious plan to deliver with many new projects, many of these will directly fund Middleton based individuals, groups and good causes.

“We have a fantastic team and each one of us here in Rotary are looking forward with hope and some excitement to delivering for Middleton.”

Rotary Middleton intends to run the much-loved Father Christmas Float through the streets of Middleton in December along with a special reindeer parade around Middleton Gardens in mid-December. Other intended projects include a junior photography competition, Platinum Jubilee celebrations, race night, whisky tasting, shoe box appeal, outdoor concert and citizen/young citizen of the year awards amongst others.

Rotary chooses a new president each year, and the term of office starts in July, ending in June.
