Residents asked to support Ring of Red ride on Remembrance Sunday

Date published: 07 November 2021

Local residents are encouraged to show support for the annual Ring of Red ride on the M60 by gathering on the motorway’s bridges on Remembrance Sunday (14 November).

Thousands of bikers wearing red are expected to descend on the Greater Manchester ring road, appearing to make a huge red poppy when viewed from above.

The ride travels clockwise from Birch services, westbound onto the M62, completing a full lap of the M60 before returning to Birch.

Participants can arrive from 9am onwards whilst supporters are asked to gather on the M60’s bridges from 12noon onwards.

The ride itself will start at 1pm after a minute’s silence.

Organised by Jeanette Netty Keily, The Ring of Red Ride M60 is an annual event to present a physical show of support for members of the Armed Forces, both current and former members.

An additional ride takes place around the M25 in London at the same time.
