Middleton remembers

Date published: 12 November 2021

A poignant new display of remembrance has been unveiled in Middleton by its In Bloom committee.

The ‘Middleton Remembers’ display was revealed on Armistice Day, Thursday 11 November, by the committee, designers Sign & Print Direct and veterans from the Royal British Legion.

It features the silhouette of a spitfire flying past, leaving behind a trail of bright red poppies.

‘Middleton Remembers’ is displayed on the wall of the walkway between Studd Menswear and Middleton Computers on Old Hall Street.

Another remembrance display has been installed near the Archer pub roundabout, replacing the summer’s ‘Beacon of Hope’ rainbow.

‘Lest We Forget’, also by Sign & Print, shows two soldiers kneeling by a cross, surrounded by poppies.

The annual Remembrance Sunday parade takes place at Middleton Memorial Gardens this Sunday (14 November).

Details of the parade route and service information is available here.
