Date published: 10 November 2022

Local country rock group Between the Vines has had its second album shortlisted for album of the year at the British Country Music Association awards.

The Rochdale-based band, which was formed in 2014, comprises Mark Stelfox on lead guitar, Rebecca Whitehead - who sings and plays acoustic guitar, Kev Whitehead on drums and Craig Fletcher on bass guitar.

Their first album ‘50 Ways to Beautiful’ was released in 2018 with the group going on to win the 2019 Feel Good Battle of the Bands.

Between the Vines also drew a capacity crowd at this year’s Feel Good Festival outdoor stage at The Medicine Tap.

Their latest album ‘Ain’t Country Enough’ was released in March 2022 and has had radio airplay from  the likes of BBC Radio Manchester, Greatest Hits Radio and Real Rock 105.7.

Of the nomination, Between the Vines said they were “chuffed to bits to have made it to the final five in the best UK album category.”
