Generous Brownies donate to Milnrow foodbank

Date published: 16 December 2022

The 27th Rochdale Brownie group, of Milnrow, has made a huge donation to the Milnrow and Newhey Foodbank.

The girls, who meet at Moorhouse Church Hall, have recently completed their charity badge, and chose the local foodbank. To collect their charity badge, they had to research the charity, promote it, collect donations and write to the charity to thank them for their work.

After collecting a spread of donations, leader Tracey Crabtree and two Brownies, Anastasia Taylor and Amber Larder, took eight large bags of food, toiletries and gifts to Milnrow Parish Church for the foodbank on Sunday (11 December).

Councillor Irene Davidson was on hand to receive the generous donation, and said some of it would be distributed to Rochdale Foodbank and Women in Crisis. She added that the donations would allow for many hampers to be made up.

Brownie leader Carole Holland said: “We are very proud of our girls for supporting this charity and for thinking of others at this time of year.”
