The Mayor of Rochdale Councillor Mike Holly was invited to Heywood Distribution Park in Greater Manchester this week to plant 30 fruit trees at the site, marking RHS in Bloom’s 60th Anniversary the theme for which is friendship.
CBRE estate manager, Craig Allen said: “We invited Councillor Holly, our tenants, contractors and co-workers to joins us at the ceremony, where a mix of 30 apple, pear and plum trees were planted in three areas around the park. The event marked the diamond birthday of RHS in Bloom and promoted our long association with it.”
“The three areas chosen on the site will be under sown with wildflowers, adding to the aesthetic and improving the space for our pollinating insects and bee colonies. It is hoped the areas will become a natural meeting place as they become established, providing space for people to enjoy, promoting this year’s theme of friendship.”
The event was supported by the Heywood Distribution Park’s team including Peter Ashley, the in-house grounds maintenance provider.
