A fire involving an extractor fan in an annex building used as a security lodge, at Rylalux Carpets in the early hours of Saturday morning was believed to be accidental, caused by a fault, but police were requested to attend due to security lodge being vacant but personal possessions were evident. It is not known what had happened to security staff.
A fire terraced property on Queensway just after midnight on Sunday morning involved a chip pan. It is understood there was one casualty, who ran to his grandmother's house on Daventry Road where he was treated for burns to shoulder back neck and arm by paramedics before being transported to Rochdale Infirmary.
