Talent winner to perform at the Feel Good Festival

Date published: 25 June 2010

The winner of Rochdale’s Got Talent is the latest act to be announced in the Feel Good Festival line up.

Ellysse Mason, 14, of Syke won the competition in May and has since had numerous gig offers.

The teen will perform in the Feel Good Festival in August, she said: “I am really excited but scared at the same time. It is quite nerve racking.”

Ellysse will also perform with a band she had to form at school, called ‘Part 500’

Ellysse shone in the Rochdale’s Got Talent competition when she sang a song she had penned herself whilst playing the guitar.

“I am going to write some new songs, I have just started writing one called ‘Boys like you’ because I have been having a bit of boy trouble at the moment,” said the up and coming singer-songwriter.

Ellysse is thrilled with all the offers she has had lately and feels it is really boosting her confidence. “It is definitely helping. Before I was really shy and would never get up and sing.”

Ellysse’s mum, Emma Travis, described this latest offer as ‘very exciting.’

“It is really good for her, she keeps getting little bits of things to do and the best thing she can do is take up everything and get lots of experience.

“Ellysse is becoming more confident and writing new songs all the time. It is really good for and I think it is very exciting as long as she stays focused.”

The Feel Good Festival takes place on the 14 and 15 August 2010.
