Shoe Box Appeal:
Wardle High School is taking part in Operation Christmas Child again this year. Operation Christmas Child is the largest children's Christmas project in the world, run by the Christian charity Samaritan's Purse. Operation Christmas Child involves sending shoeboxes full of gifts and goodies, which are then distributed to disadvantaged children across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Our Sixth Form are co-ordinating our Shoe Box Appeal in the hope that we can break our record of 67 boxes from last year! Students can create whole shoe boxes or can donate several items in order to make up shoe boxes in school. Samaritan’s Purse also kindly asks for a donation of £2.50 per box, in order to ensure that the box can reach its destination. Please make sure your shoe boxes are in school by 25 November 25. Please send them to SF6 or request that V13 come to collect them. Please see our website for a list of suitable gifts.

Remembrance Day:
Last Sunday the Wardle High Youth Band and School Band participated in the parade for Remembrance Sunday. The March started at 2.30pm at Wardle Chapel and arrived at Wardle Cenotaph at 2.45pm. Many people turned up to watch the Remembrance Sunday parade, before partaking in a Service of Remembrance at the Wardle Cenotaph.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale took part in the service and they were joined by youngsters from Cubs, Beavers, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.
Well done to all students who braved the cold to take part in this wonderful service.

Christmas Engagements:
Our very talented musical groups are going to be taking part in many different Christmas celebrations this year. We have a very full programme of events culminating in our traditional annual carols round the tree in Wardle Square at 6.30 pm. on Christmas Eve.
In order to make sure you get chance to see our musical groups, please see our website for a timetable of events.

Instrument Insurance:
According to our records there are still students who have not paid the insurance for a musical instrument which was due by Friday 30 September 2011. Therefore, prompt payment from these students would be very much appreciated. Please make cheques payable to Wardle High School.
The cost of instrument insurance is £20 for one, £30 for two or £35 for three.
Those students who do not bring their insurance money risk having to pay the full price for instruments that are damaged. Please contact the Performing Arts Team at school if you have any queries.

Term Dates- Our new term dates for 2012- 2013 are now available on the Wardle High School website.
