Federation of nation states fears

Date published: 17 September 2012

Calls for a 'federation of nation states' made by Eurocrat Jose Manual Barroso have been described as a "chilling warning".

Local MEP Paul Nuttall also said that it showed that the European Commission President "is increasingly out of touch with public feeling.

"These Eurocrats live in an ivory palace and refuse to see that the whole edifice is in a state of collapse.

"Instead he is arguing for 'shared sovereignty' and 'absolute loyalty' as they move towards a federation of nation states," explained Mr Nuttall, Deputy Leader of UKIP.

"He has described anyone opposed to it is a populist or an extreme nationalist which would actually take in majority of the population of Europe.
This creeping euro dictatorship will repulse millions of British people.”

Mr Nuttall continued, "His plans provide a chilling warning for everyone of how these Eurocrats see the future. And it is not one most people want any part of.

"But at least it may well mean that his State of the Union speech may bring a referendum on Britain's membership of the EU a little bit closer."
