Sixth Form College showcase their offerings to future students

Date published: 05 October 2012

Year 11 students wondering where to study for their A Levels will be given the chance to learn more about life at Rochdale Sixth Form College next week, at upcoming events – designed to provide secondary school pupils with more information on the options available after GCSEs.

On 10 and 11 October, Rochdale Sixth Form College will be exhibiting at Rochdale Town Hall, at the Future First event. Teachers will be on hand to discuss the courses available, College facilities – and provide details on how to apply for September 2013.

For those wanting more of an insight into studying at Rochdale Sixth Form College, Open Days will be held on Saturday 13 October and 17 November at the College itself. Parents and students are invited to have a tour of the College’s state-of-the-art facilities, meet with subject teachers, and attend a presentation by the College Principal.

Julian Appleyard, Principal at Rochdale Sixth Form College said: “We are delighted to be part of Future First and hope to meet lots of potential new students at the event. If people can’t make it, we would urge them to come to one of our open days and get a real insight into what makes Rochdale Sixth Form College different from anywhere else.

Even though we’re only in our third year here, we’ve already established ourselves as best in class, both locally and nationally, with an A-Level pass rate of 99% and our value added performance classed as outstanding.

We do things a little differently here at RSFC as we’re the only Sixth Form College in the area that focuses solely on A-Levels, making us specialists in the subject – something we’re very proud of.”

Future First will be held at Rochdale Town Hall on 10 and 11 October, from 9.30 am, and Rochdale Sixth Form College Open Days will be held on Saturday 13 October and 17 November, from 10am – 2pm. For more information please visit www.rochdalesfc.ac.uk or call 01706 769 800.
