Increase in students at Rochdale Sixth Form College

Date published: 05 October 2012

Rochdale Sixth Form College has seen a huge rise in numbers this year, with a 48 per cent increase in students walking through the doors this September.

After the College’s first set of A Level results this summer, which put it in the top 5 per cent nationally in value added terms, 638 students are now studying for their A Levels at the College – in comparison to 442 this time last year.

Julian Appleyard, Principal of Rochdale Sixth Form College, comments: “We’re thrilled to see that more and more students from Rochdale and the surrounding areas are seeing the attraction of studying at a high quality A Level establishment, which is right on their doorstep.

“This year was our first set of A Level results, and our students performed brilliantly – achieving an overall pass rate of 99 per cent. This has really set the standard for success in future years and we hope this was the first of many positive results days to come.”
