Helpers and Hercules the Hornets mascot at the Flying Horse soup kitchen
Ben Boothman, landlord of the Flying Horse, organised hot food and clothes for the town's homeless.
The local Rugby League community rallied to the cause with players and administrators from Rochdale Cobras, Littleborough ARLFC, Rochdale Swarm and Whitworth Spartans all rolling up their sleeves and getting involved.
The Hornets got stuck in as well, with Hercules leading the way dispensing soup and sandwiches and helping spread the word in town about the activity.
A Hornets spokesman said: "Well done to Ben and his staff at the Flying Horse, as well as all those who took the time out to help those less fortunate then themselves."
Ben said: "I would like to thank those who helped out today with our first soup kitchen, you're all great Rochdalians."
