Nineteen-year-old Nathan Brown dies after falling from a ladder

Nineteen-year-old Nathan Brown, from Whitworth, died on Wednesday (4 September) after falling 12ft from a ladder.

Nathan, an apprentice electrician, fell from the ladder whilst at work.

Emergency Services were called to the scene at 10:58am on Wednesday to reports of a man falling from a ladder who was believed to be in cardiac arrest.

Nathan was air lifted to the Royal Blackburn hospital in a serious condition and died a short time later.

Greater Manchester Police said: “Just after 11am on Wednesday 4 September 2013, police were called to Shawclough trading estate, Rochdale following reports a 19-year-old man had fallen from a ladder and was in cardiac arrest.

"The air ambulance was called but sadly the man died a short time later.

"The Health and Safety Executive were contacted and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.”

A spokesperson for HSE confirmed that an investigator had visited the scene and were aware of the incident but could not confirm at this time whether a full investigation will be taking place.

Nathan, an ex pupil of Whitworth High School, trained to be an electrician at Bury College.
