Rotary presents a new strip for Middleton Colts

Date published: 17 March 2014

The Rotary Club of Middleton has awarded Middleton Colts £700; the grant has been used to purchase a new strip for the senior team which included shirts, shorts and socks.

The Middleton Colts has been established for 29 years and is the oldest Football Club in Middleton. The Colts have two teams, an Open Age team in the Rochdale & District Sunday Football League and an under 18s team in the Bury North Junior Football League. Both teams are doing extremely well and both are top of their leagues and in with a chance of silverware.

Paul Hindley, the chairman of the Colts, said: “I would like to thank the Rotary Club of Middleton for their sponsorship and support of Middleton Colts. Also, I would like to thank the Cleworth Centre and Middleton Parish School for their great and continued support. We are currently funded through donations so this sponsorship is very welcome.”

Lee Wolf, Chair of Community Service Committee at the Middleton Rotary Club added: “The Rotary Club of Middleton would like to thank Paul and his team for the support they gave the Rotary Club during our Christmas street collections last December.

"Without their efforts and the other volunteers who turned out night after night the Rotary Club of Middleton wouldn’t be in a position to support the volume of community groups and worthy causes we do today.”
