Cats Protection Spring Fair

Date published: 12 April 2014

Cats Protection held a spring fair today (Saturday 12 April) to raise money for the charity.

The fair, which is one of two held every year for the charity, was held at St George’s Hall on Bury Road and ran from 11.00am until 2.00pm.

Stalls at the fair included craft items, books, bric-a-brac, home-baked goods and a cat’s protection stall.

Val Sultan from Cats Protection in Rochdale said: “All money raised from the fair will go to the charity for a number of different things, mainly the protection of cats and vulnerable cats.”

Money raised at the fair will also go to help rescue cats, re-homing cats and neutering ferrile cats to stop them from breeding.

The spring fair follows on from the annual Christmas fair that the charity holds every year.

“It has been good today. We have had a lot of people in. The Christmas Fair is usually a bit more successful than this one but we still have a good turn out,” said Val.

Spring fairs often raise anything from £300 to £1,000 .

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading cat welfare charity rescuing, re-homing and re-uniting 46,000 cats and kittens every year across the UK.
