Man indecently exposed himself in Middleton

Date published: 16 July 2014

A man indecently exposed himself on three occasions in Middleton.

The first happened on Bowlee playing fields, Heywood Old Road at around 4.45pm on Tuesday 15 July 2014, when a ten-year-old girl was walking and saw the man exposing himself. She ran off before alerting her family.

The second happened 5.25pm, 40 minutes later, on Green Lane where he exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl before she ran off.

The final incident took place at 9.10pm on Don Street. A 17-year-old girl was walking and as she got near to trees, the man exposed himself before she ran off.

He is described as being white, in his 30s, 6ft tall and wore an Adidas tracksuit.

Detective Sergeant Nicola Hopkinson said: “Due to the times and locations all three incidents took place, we believe the same person is responsible.

“Although the victims’ have not been physically touched, they have still been left shocked by what happened.

“Obviously residents will be concerned by what has happened and we have increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance.

“I would ask if anyone has seen this man or believe they have been a victim themselves, please contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 8576 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
