Date published: 16 August 2014

Andy Kelly, former Lib Dem councillor and owner of a fancy dress shop business on Drake Street, is due to appear on a newly launched ITV documentary series regarding the history of quiz shows.

Andy, who holds the UK record for the most TV game and quiz show appearances, will appear in episode three of the four part series.

In the episode, Andy will be joined by the woman who has appeared on the most game shows and the man who has appeared on the most quiz shows.

Speaking to Rochdale Online, Andy said: “It was a great experience and a great day out. Bradley Walsh was a great guy to film with.”

As well as being interviewed by TV presenter Bradley Walsh, Andy and his fellow quiz and game show contestants formed a quiz team with Bradley Walsh and gate crashed a quiz in Manchester.

“I will leave some surprise for the show so I won’t tell you how the quiz went,” said Andy.

The series titled ‘Come on Down! The Game Show Story’ tells the definitive history of the TV game show and features classic archive footage and interviews with some of the biggest names in entertainment.

Andy has appeared on 37 different quiz and game shows and recommended that everyone take part in a least one.

He said: “I have done the big three which are Mastermind, Millionaire and Deal or No Deal and have done about 37 altogether. Everyone should at least appear on one quiz or game show before or after they retire. It is a great experience.”

Andy’s episode is due to be aired on ITV on Sunday 24 August at 7.00pm.
