Therapeutic garden for tram gateway to Rochdale

Date published: 11 September 2014

The Rochdale Boroughwide User Forum (RBUF) is appealing to people of the borough to help them with their therapeutic garden.

The forum, which moved into their new premises in July, is looking for donations to help them brighten up their prominent position on Drake Street – which is on the tram gateway into Rochdale and is one of the first impressions visitors to the town by tram or bus see as they arrive.

The group is keen to hear from local gardening suppliers and nursery outlets who would be generous enough to donate bedding plants, shrubs or seeds which they feel would add to the garden and the surrounding area. This would then help the group improve the area and allow people who pass by to also take pride in the area.

The group has already had a generous donation of paint and wall paper from local decorating shops on Drake Street in order to complete the internal decoration of the 100 year old building.

Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) also helped the forum by clearing the surrounding streets on Drake Street and the back of Drake Street.

Anyone who thinks they can help can contact the RBUF:
