24-year-old man arrested following brawl that left two men in serious condition

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault after what was described as a “brawl” occurred yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 10 September).
Eye witnesses to the incident saw the fighting between gangs of Asian men on Edward Street in Rochdale and throughout the Wardleworth/Cronkeyshaw area.
At around 4:30pm, police were called to the disturbance which is believed to have involved 10 Asian men.
Once officers arrived, they discovered that a 23-year-old man had been stabbed and further enquires established that a 24-year old-man had been hit by a car on Edward Street.
Both men were taken to hospital and are in a serious but stable condition.
Enquiries are still on-going.
