Jade Lea Hegarty, 24, has won a place in the final of Star Search, a talent competition held in conjunction with Mecca Bingo.

Jade, of Heights Lane, Falinge, was awarded first place after competing in the competition at Mecca Bingo in Knotty Ash, Liverpool.

She will now head to Blackpool to perform in front of X Factor star Stacey Solomon.

Speaking about the competition, Jade said: “It’s absolutely amazing to be through to the final of Mecca Star Search.

“I want to say thank you to all of the fantastic judges at Mecca Knotty Ash for choosing me as their regional winner.

“I’m really excited about going to the final in Blackpool and it would be a dream come true if I was the winner and got to fly out to Hollywood!”

To be crowned the winner of the regional search, Jade impressed judges, actress Crissy Rock, Angie Sammons from Liverpool Confidential and local singer Asa Murphy with a performance of ‘Yours’ by Ella Henderson.

The national final will be held in Blackpool in June and the winner will be jetting off to Los Angeles for a once in a lifetime trip for two to Hollywood, with accommodation in a Beverley Hills Hotel and spending money included.
