Inspector Michelle Hughes said: "Priorities this week continue to be around supporting vulnerable people and victims of domestic violence and tackling burglaries.

"This week we have been dealing with a further report of human trafficking in Rochdale, after a young woman approached us for help.

"After a lot of hard work we have been able to support a vulnerable victim of crime, and ensure she was able to return to a place of safety with safeguarding measures in place.

"The investigation is on going and we continue to work with our partner agencies to protect the public, target the offenders and reduce harm caused by human trafficking.

"On Thursday 23 April officers from our neighbourhood policing team carried out an operation in Rochdale town centre, in conjunction with Rochdale Council Licencing Department.

"The operation was put together following feedback from local residents and businesses and resulted in a vehicle being seized and a number of people being dealt with for various offences.

"We were out again on Friday 24 April, this time at Rochdale Exchange Centre, In addition to dealing with any offences, officers were on hand to offer crime prevention advice and giving out items related to personal safety and burglary reduction.

"Also this week officers covering the Spotland and Falinge areas attended Meanwood Primary School. Children were given the opportunity to quiz our officers, on what they do and what it is like to work for the police."
