Students ‘made up’ with success

Date published: 28 May 2015

Students proved themselves talented in all beauty related subjects when they scooped an impressive six wins at a recent competition.

The students competed in a range of skills including hairdressing, media make-up and nail art against nine other colleges from the Greater Manchester area.

After the day long competition had finished, the competitors gathered round to hear the results and the Hopwood Hall College team were not disappointed!

The team scooped two first place wins in the level two hairdressing competition and level three media make-up competition, which was won by Tanya Amjad, 19, from Rochdale. The competition saw Tanya transform her model into a lizard-like creature which clearly impressed the judges.

In addition to the first place wins, the College also received three second place wins in the level two nail art, level two media make-up and level three hairdressing competition, and one third place win in the level one nail art competition.

Liz Fisher, Hair and Beauty Programme Manager at Hopwood Hall College, commented: “This was such a great result and truly reflects the high standards of training our students receive from a team of highly skilled and committed staff.”
