It is understood that Rochdale Council have visited the site and issued a stop notice to the builders, but this has been ignored.

A local resident contacted Rochdale Online and said: “They have been told to stop and they haven’t. They are now lighting fires to get rid of the rubbish and it stinks. My house absolutely stinks because of the smoke.”

We understand that local residents have complained about the issue for a number of weeks.

“There are rats on site as well, which is disgusting, and I have been on to the council and I am not getting anywhere,” added the resident.

MB Estates Limited, who are responsible for the property, state that they are aware that a stop notice has been issued to the site but did not want to comment on the issue at this time and added that they will visit the site to see what is going on.

Rochdale Council have also been made aware of the issue.
