Claire Renton selected to represent Manchester for 'Beauty of the UK'

Date published: 07 October 2015

Claire Renton, 31, from Middleton, has been selected by the directors of Beauty of the UK to represent Manchester in an upcoming beauty pageant.

Claire has already been given the title of Beauty of Manchester 2015 and will hold that title for the next year.

Taking place on Sunday 25 October in Chorley, Beauty of the UK will see girls competing in four groups – England, Scotland, Wales and Teens. Claire will be competing against around 30 other girls, and if she wins she will go on to compete in Spain against girls worldwide.

As part of the contest, Claire will be interviewed by all of the judges, will have to introduce herself on stage and then compete in four rounds. The rounds include red dress, fashion wear, bikini and evening wear. Claire will then be judged on each round and for her fundraising efforts.

Claire describes herself as “very outgoing, confident, friendly and an ambitious girl” and hopes that the interviews with the judges on the day will show this side of her personality.

There are also a variety of other awards that can be won including Miss Publicity, Best Eyes, Best in Fashion, Evening Wear and many more.

The main charity she is supporting is Rays of Sunshine.

Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity brightens up the lives of seriously ill children in the UK, aged three to 18-years-old, by granting wishes, granting hospital ward wishes and organising outings and large scale events for seriously ill children.

Claire has already held a family fun day where she raised £247 for the charity. A further £135 was raised through the sale of a signed Manchester City top and other fundraising activities planned by Claire include a cake sale.

In April 2015 Claire won Miss Charity at the Face of the Globe Beauty Pageant, after raising £590 for the Rainbow Child Foundation. She is now hoping she can raise just as much this time, if not more.
