Following the incident, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has informed the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

It is understood that a 999 call was made from the house earlier that evening.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “The IPCC have been made aware of the incident and GMP is awaiting a decision. It would be inappropriate to comment further.”

A spokesperson for the IPCC said: “The IPCC received a referral by Greater Manchester Police on Monday 2 November. The IPCC will now make an assessment to determine the level of involvement we will have in an investigation.”
