Remembrance Sunday in Middleton

The people of Middleton paid their respects to those who died in the service of their country this morning (Sunday 8 November) at the annual remembrance service.
The procession was led by Middleton Band and the Service of Remembrance conducted by Revd Martin Short, Rector of Middleton Parish.
The last post was sounded followed by a two minute silence.
The lesson read was from John's Gospel, Chapter 15, verses 9-14.
Councillor Peter Williams, Deputy Leader of Rochdale Borough Council, said: "I am very pleased with attendance, the best yet I believe, and also delighted with how many young people were there from various uniformed organisations.
"I didn’t expect as many with the weather as it was.
"The new minister from Middleton Parish led the service.
"Very pleased, very fitting."
