Bonny Baby and Toddler competition winners announced

Date published: 22 May 2014

Winner of the Wheatsheaf shopping centre’s Bonny Baby 0-18 months competition is 12 week old Charlie with two and a half year old ‘Tai’ winning the toddler category for children aged 19 months to six years old.

Charlie’s mum Sharon said she was “chuffed” about him winning and that it’s thanks to her sister as she was the one who took him in for it. Sharon explained: “I knew nothing about the competition it was my sister who took him, when he was six weeks old. I’m really pleased he won though.”

Charlie’s auntie Amanda Shaw added: “I’m really pleased because I didn’t expect anything of it. I’d forgotten about it when they rang on Monday so I was really shocked. I’m very surprised but very happy about it.

“I didn’t even know the competition was happening, I was just in the Wheatsheaf and saw the stand so I rang my sister to see if she minded me entering Charlie into the competition. All we had to do was get his picture taken.”

Tai was born on 30 August 2011 and his mum Stacey said she is “over the moon” that he won.

Stacey explained: “I was so surprised when I found out but I’m so proud of him. He’s my only child so I’m so happy for him to have won.”

She added: “I was also really surprised when I heard that the winner of the baby category was a little boy as well because it’s usually girls who win the bonny baby competition.”

Both winners will be receiving a premium photo shoot and a £50 Argos voucher, to be present to them on 31 May in the Wheatsheaf centre.
