Desmond runs for Sport Relief

Date published: 26 March 2014

Rochdale AFC’s mascot, Desmond the Dragon, donned his trainers at the weekend to take part in the Rochdale Millipede Mile at Broadfield Park on Sunday.

He joined the young, and not so young, in completing the mile to raise money for Sport Relief.

Dale’s Head of Football in the Community, who attended the event with Desmond, commented: “It was a fantastic day out and luckily the weather was decent, which added to the family friendly atmosphere.

“Desmond had a great day and was even given the top job of getting the race underway. Most importantly, though, everybody who turned out raised money for a very good cause, while having fun at the same time.”
