Rochdale AFC launch 6-3-1 Project…

Date published: 01 September 2015

Despite the current season only just kicking off, Rochdale AFC have announced their replica kit plans for the 2016-17 season.

Their kit supplier, Errea, is looking to have the new designs for both the 2016-17 home and away kit completed by the end of December, ready for production in the New Year.

The Dale Board of Directors are giving supporters the opportunity to bring their innovations, inspirations and ideas to the table in a ‘design the kit’ competition, named the 6-3-1 Project, where all aspects of the club and supporters are involved.

Designs for the home kit should include a blue, black and white colour scheme, however, the away kit colour scheme is be entirely the choice of the supporter.

A panel of judges from the club, including the directors, players, Errea and the Dale Supporters Trust will whittle the designs down to shortlist of six to be revealed at the end of September. Supporters will then get the opportunity to vote for three finalists from those six.

A sample of the three shortlisted home and away kits will be manufactured by Errea and displayed in the club shop for a final round of voting in December. The winning designs will be kept under wraps until the kits are launched next season.

You can download a design template below.

Fans can add collars, change the shape of the neck or add detail by simply drawing them on the template and include any notes on your design. Use a computer program i.e. Photoshop or get creative and get out the felt tips, crayons or paints to design a kit.

The competition has no age limit. The closing date for entries is Friday 18th September 2015.
