Shehneela Ahmed heads to Hollywood's LA Galaxy

Date published: 16 January 2016

Rochdale-born Shehneela Ahmed has been chosen by David Kammarman, LA Galaxy's Director of Soccer operations, to assist the club in all football activities.

Shehneela said: "Absolutely excited to be given this great opportunity to work alongside LA Galaxy, it's an honour and privilege, absolutely excited and looking forward to this great journey.

"I've not had time to reflect on the last two years let alone digest the LA Galaxy opportunity. It's been one hell of a roller coaster ride and journey for me, an opportunity to be working with such a big club, I've been assisting scouts and managers here in England, I never imagined I would help MLS clubs."

MLS club LA Galaxy has been popularised in England by another England star, David Beckham, amongst other big names, and now Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Shehneela will work with premier league managers and other clubs in England dealing with transfers and new signings for LA Galaxy.

Shehneela added: "This journey is a result of the good team I have behind me. They are my guardian angels, without them and without my parents none of this would had been possible.

"I just want to thank David and his team at LA Galaxy for trusting me and giving me this unique and wonderful opportunity, I shared the news first with my team and my family before sharing it with you all."

The LA Galaxy stadium is just a stone’s throw away from where some of the most legendary Hollywood stars have lived. Elvis Presley was just two roads away in the historic Trousdale Estates district of Los Angeles. Frank Sinatra was also a resident there, as was legendary film star.

Shehneela left Rochdale at the age of 17 to pursue her dream becoming a criminal lawyer advocate. She went on to make history by becoming Britain's, and the world's, first Asian female football agent for the English FA.
