Mayfield Preview

Date published: 19 May 2016

Rochdale Mayfield entertain Pilkington Recs in Saturday's Kingstone Press NCL premier division clash at the Mayfield Sports Centre.

Both sides are mid table on six points with Pilkington having played seven games to Mayfields six.

Both sides also had good away wins last weekend with Mayfield defeating Egremont and Pilkington coming away with the points from Hull Dockers - so a good contest is on the cards for Saturday's game.

It has been several years since the two sides last met so neither know much about the other but both know there are no easy games at this level.

Based on their last outing, Mayfied have what it takes to beat the best in this division and they will be hoping they can prove that again.

The pack last week set the platform for a comprehensive victory and the backs made the most of that winning their third game on the bounce.

Sponsors for Saturday's game are Ace Electrical with Dave Marcroft and they are joined in the sponsors box by the Kirkholt WMC ex players with Pete Standring.

Dave Harmer and Craig White are also looking forward to a home fixture as the NWML side play hosts to Halton Farnworth Hornets.

A cracking game is in prospect with Hornets having registered just one more win than Mayfield in this tight division two.

The players were disappointed to lose at Leyland last week after leading for much of the game and will be looking to make amends on Saturday.

Fixtures 21/05/16
NCL Premier: Mayfield v Pilkington Recs - kick off 2.30pm
NWML Division Two: Mayfield v Halton Farnworth - kick off 2.30pm
