Ashley Eastham to leave Dale for Fleetwood Town FC

Date published: 20 May 2016

Defender Ashley Eastham will leave the club when his contract expires on 30 June – setting his sights on a move to the seaside.

Keith Hill had offered the 25-year-old a new deal but Eastham is understood to have reached an agreement on a two-year deal with Fleetwood Town.

Eastham said: "It really has been a very tough call and it is one I have given a great deal of thought about.

"I have had three good years with Rochdale but I felt I needed a new challenge and the move to Fleetwood will give me that.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Keith Hill and Chris Beech, the whole of the staff and players and a special thank you to the fans for their support during my three years at the club."

A club spokesperson said: "The club is disappointed to see him go and would like to thank him for his efforts during his time at Spotland and wish him all the very best for the future."
