Heywood Cricket Club teams for the weekend

Date published: 17 June 2016

Heywood teams are involved in five matches – three of them at Crimble – on a busy forthcoming weekend.

The Club’s Heywood Monkeys side get the ball rolling on Friday when they entertain their neighbours Bamford Bulldogs (Fieldhouse) in the final Group match of the Archway T20 Cup (6.15pm).

Saturday sees the senior side entertain Egerton and the second team going to Swinton Moorside.

And Sunday features another game for the first team in a trip to Unsworth, rescheduled from April 30 when the original fixture was another victim of the rain in the first half of the season.

Back into the Heywood side for that game comes left-arm spinner Chris Kaye, pictured, who has been skippering the second team, along with Mikey Grogan. They replace the unavailable Dominic Humphreys and Liam Mason.

The third eleven are at home to Royton the same day with the team being led by Adam Fawcett.

Heywood First X1 v Egerton, home, Saturday (1pm): C Humphreys (capt), J Borg, R Cross, W Hunt, D Humphreys, L Mason, S Burrill, A Dawson, J Morley, S Dawson, D Pawson (pro).

Owing to the forecasted weather, rescheduled fixtures and the T20 game at Crimble, training for the Under-15s and Under-18s has been cancelled this week. Training will be back to normal the following week, weather permitting.

The Under-15s have a home game scheduled against Thornham on Monday (6pm).
