Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club launch ladies teams

Date published: 25 October 2016

Girls across the age range 10 - 16 attended the launch event for the Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club Ladies Team on Sunday 23 October, such was the enthusiasm that he club will now begin two new ladies teams for the age groups:

Under 13s (years seven and eight at Secondary School)

under 15s  (years nine and 10 at secondary school)

Such was the enthusiasm on the day the club had to extend the introductory training session by an extra 30 minutes.

The girls enjoyed the beautiful game and are looking forward to their first fixtures against other girl’s teams across the region.

Isabella said: “As girls we are often told we cannot play rugby, we say we can and its great fun and team building.”

Scarlet Kearns said: “I did not release how much fun we could have and we have immediately bonded as a new set of friends and team mates.”

The coaches on the day were so impressed by the effort and commitment of the girls on this first event, an outstanding day with an enthralling sporting experience.

Other payers and coaches are welcome to come and join the newly formed girls section at the club.
