Rugby Union: John Doherty plays his last game for Littleborough RUFC

Date published: 20 December 2016

John Doherty played his last game for Littleborough RUFC on Saturday (17 December) as the company he works for has asked him to work in Northern Ireland in a more senior role.

Having joined Littleborough nine years ago, he first played at wing forward before being asked to fill the vacancy of hooker.

A club spokesperson said: "John has been a credit to his rugby club, both as a player and as a club man.

"His toughness on the pitch, as hooker and as a strong defensive player and ball carrier will be well missed in the future.

"Everyone at Littleborough RUFC wishes him all the best and would like to thank him for his help at Littleborough."
