Rochdale Cobras under 10s make it two wins out of two

Date published: 12 March 2017

Rochdale Cobras welcomed Atherton Dragons to Firgrove for their first home game of the season and playing in their new kit they made it two wins out of two.

Atherton took an early lead with a very strong run by one of their powerful forwards to go over the line for the first try of the game.

It didn't take long for the Cobras to respond with some strong running by the Cobras pack.

The first half ended very close with Cobras behind at the break 16-18.

The second half got under way with both sides showing how strong they were in defence.

It didn't look like either side was going to let a try in until two minutes from the end.

Cobras muscled over the line for the only try of the half. The conversation was missed.

Cobras had two minutes to defend the last set of the game which they did successfully.

Cobras Coach David Lawlor said: “I couldn't have asked for any more effort from the young lads and I’m a very proud coach at the end of the game.”

Two wins out of two for Cobras and a trip to Leyland next Sunday.

Tries: Joshua Lawlor (2) and Elliot Fielding (2).
Conversions: Joshua Lawlor, Elliot Fielding, Oliver Boothman.
Man-of-the-match: James Howarth.
Coaches award: Taylor Howarth.
