Boxing: Zain Ahmed and Joe Crawford through to final stages of the championships

Date published: 20 March 2017

Zain Ahmed and Joe Crawford, of Queensway ABC, are through to the final stages of the championships next week in London.

Ahmed was punch perfect and dominated all three rounds resulting in again a dubious spit decision in his favour.

Joe Crawford was a little slow out of the blocks but still took the bout catching his opponent with the better-quality shots.

Ahid Khan was up first against a boxer who had previously beat him. He produced a flawless display of boxing only to robbed of a chance in the final with a shocking split decision loss to the amazement of everyone watching.

A club spokesman said: "Obviously as a team we are over the moon to take two out of the three to the final stages, but fuming with what happened to Ahid. There is nothing we can do about it only take it on the chin and walk away knowing who was the better fighter."
