Rugby League: Mayfield's challenge for the division two title continues

Date published: 21 September 2017

Mayfield NWML side begin their challenge for the division two title on Saturday afternoon as they entertain Chorley panthers at the Mayfield Sports Centre.

Mayfield finished in the top spot in the division after a superb season which saw some memorable results.

Saturday’s opponents finished fourth and the honours between the two teams were even after and out of sorts.

Mayfield surrendered at home in July and went down 8 - 19.

Coaches Marvin Connolly and Dave Harmer have a wealth of experience behind them and know that their side did not play well that day and they have had the players in for extra training this week in an attempt to eradicate the school boy errors that have blighted them at times this season.

The winners will face the winners of Widnes Tigers versus Manchester Rangers in the play-off final at a ground yet to be named next Saturday.

Fixture

23 September
NWML Division Two
Play-off Semi-Final
