Heywood Cricket Club
Another convincing victory for Heywood Seconds maintained their 100% start to the season as they stayed top of Division Four East Newton Heath in the Greater Manchester League.
Heywood proved too hot for Newton Heath as they strolled to a six-wicket victory at sunny Crimble.
Keelan Nugent and Tom Pagett claimed early wickets when the visitors batted first before Chris Kaye and Lee Clarkson took over.
The duo forged a successful spin partnership again as Newton Heath fell for just 93 in 35.4 overs, left-armer Kaye claiming 4-24 and Clarkson 3-20.
Heywood reached their victory target with six wickets in hand, opener Jacob Kaye top-scoring with 28 before Rob Bennett (23) and captain Mikey Grogan (22) put together an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 35.
