Karate: Black belt grading at Kaizen-Do

Date published: 06 July 2018

Seven members of Kaizen-Do Karate were presented with their hard-earned black belts at the recent grading.

The students to be awarded their black belts by Sensei Dervish were Caiden Fearnehough, Zach Dean, 11, Alfie Camden-Clarke, 11, Jensen Hart, Oliver Freeman, 10, Patrick McLaughlan, 10, and Katie Welden, 10.

The students have been working towards their belts for between four and six years. On average, it takes a student four to five years to achieve their first-degree black belt.

A representative from Kaizen-Do said: “The students have shown true dedication over the years and have worked very hard towards their goal.

“They have a true black belt attitude and have progressed extremely well along their journey. It is not easy to reach this point and our students have made us proud. They are now setting their next goal to second and third degree black belts.”
