Brothers Andrew and Collin Perez have won gold medals in their latest fights.
The Rochdale-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters competed in the Bristol Pro BJJ Championship on 19 February, winning all their fights in the U38kg and U34kg categories by submissions.
Andrew also landed gold and silver medals at the AJP Tour Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Warrington the following weekend. Fighting in the U41kg category, he secured gold in no gi, and silver in gi.
Dad Carlos Perez said: “Andrew is officially now the number one in the UK for his weight category.
“As always, we’re very proud of him and Collin.”
Andrew and Collin’s parents are planning to take the boys and their other sibling Ethan – who didn’t compete this time – to the Pan-Ams World Championships in Orlando, Florida this summer.
Carlos added: “We truly believe the boys have a good chance to secure a podium place.”
