New roof for Rochdale Golf Club's clubhouse

Date published: 21 August 2023

The clubhouse at Rochdale Golf Club has been restored to its former glory after being re-roofed by local firm MW Roofing.

The clubhouse, situated on the 100-year-old grounds of the 18-hole golf course, was in desperate need of repairs, having had issues with a leaky roof after using products from a range of suppliers to try and patch up the holes.

Russell Roof Tiles, which supplies to builders and developers across the UK, was chosen as the supplier for the ambitious six-week roofing project, which was carried out by Castleton-based roofing contractor, MW Roofing Ltd.

The clubhouse now features a slate grey roof, using Russell’s ‘Grampian’ concrete tile and 81 solar PV panels have also been installed.

Steve Holmes, director of house and facilities at Rochdale Golf Club, said: “We’re truly delighted with the new roof which has finished off the clubhouse perfectly. Thanks to Russell Roof Tiles, who supplied the new tiles, we’re now able to welcome back guests and members to a warm and inviting space.”

Alan Young, regional sales director at Russell Roof Tiles said: “We’re pleased to be chosen for the re-roofing project at the golf club.

“With guidance from the contractor, we are proud to have supplied a cost-effective, smart-looking finish to the clubhouse, with our 15-year guarantee stamp.

“We can’t wait to see future generations enjoying all the golf club has to offer. The clubhouse looks great and has an even nicer roof now.”

Rochdale Golf Club was established in 1888 and is a prominent landmark in the local community and a popular destination for golf enthusiasts.
