Maryam Nurani returns from Welsh Open with medal haul

World championship martial artist Maryam Nurani has returned with four medals from the Welsh Open on 19 November.
The young fighter, seven, of the Dojo Karate Centre, landed gold medal wins in three categories – traditional Japanese kata, weapons kata and all styles kata – as well as earning silver for second place in kumite.
Maryam said: “I train really hard and practise because I love karate. I'm excited for the European Games next year.”
Maryam will continue fighting hard in preparation for the selection process for the European Games in London 2024.
