Torrential rain stops play at Norden Cricket Club

Date published: 09 June 2014

Norden's LCB Knockout second round match against Egerton will be replayed after torrential rain left the ground flooded and made further play impossible.

The teams met on Sunday when Egerton totalled 159 for seven in their 45 overs.

The visitors started slowly against some tight bowling before plundering 76 runs off the last 10 overs.

Simon North finished with three for 15 off his nine overs.

Simon Harman was bowled first ball of the reply, but to his relief this will not stay in the records.

Norden needed to bat for 10 overs for a result to be achieved, and the innings ended after eight, with the score on 26 for one. Torrential rain left the ground flooded and further play impossible.

The match will be replayed from the start at Stag Park next Sunday (15 June) starting at 1.00pm.
