Greenmount destroyed by Norden

Norden skipper Simon North produced an astonishing spell of bowling as his team set up an LCB Knockout semi-final tie against Walsden.

He took four wickets in four consecutive deliveries as Greenmount were put to the sword at Woodhouse Lane on Friday.

The last time a Norden player did that was in 1937 when a chap by the name of Houghton helped to bowl out Woodhouses.

His spell saw Greenmount tumble from 154 for four to an all out 155, and Norden then knocked off the required runs without loss.

Greenmount made a decent start and had 63 on the board by the time Ingram was caught by Simon North for 29.

Ur-Rehman was out for 25, Kerr went leg before to Makin and Keegan was caught on the return by Daniel Salpietro.

But as the total reached 154 for four a big score looked on the cards for the visitors.

Had they got the batsmen to build on the foundation? The answer for them was unfortunately no as wickets crashed.

Senior was caught by Ollie Makin to give North his first wicket of the match, but the best was yet to come.

One run was added in the next over before Heaton was caught by Salpietro close to the edge. The next delivery from North saw Kelly caught behind by Matthew Williams, then Salpietro took an amazing slips catch to see off Manley and give North a hat-trick.

Next up, and out, was Ashworth whom North trapped leg before.

The innings ended when Martin Smith got some reward for his bowling as Salpietro caught Evans.

The rest belonged to Simon Harman and Salpietro.

Harman hit 92 which included 12 fours and four sixes. Salpietro had nine fours and a six in his 60.

It was job done.
