Honorary life membership of Norden Cricket Club for Andrew Ingham and Alan Whillock

Date published: 02 February 2015

Honorary life membership was bestowed on two members of Norden Cricket Club, Andrew Ingham and Alan Whillock, during the club’s annual general meeting.

Andrew Ingham stepped down after five years as secretary and acting treasurer, and long standing member Alan Whillock has done countless voluntary unpaid jobs for the club.

Changes in officials saw John Murphy elected as club chairman, Les Barlow elected as secretary and Steve Clegg elected as treasurer.

Brian Butterworth continues as president in what will be his 61st year with the club, and Andrew Chadwick continues as auditor.

Greg Tattersall and Leon Wild were re-elected to the club’s general committee.

The club made a “modest” profit of £519 on the year.

Talks between the Central Lancashire and Lancashire cricket leagues look to be at an end.

Officials of the two leagues had met to talk about a possible merger, and the LL delegation had said they would discuss things with their clubs.

That meeting with clubs took place last week, and the outcome was that Central Lancashire League officials were told there would be no more talks.

The CLL continues to be involved on talks about a Greater Manchester Pyramid League.
