Date published: 03 September 2015

Members of The Dojo Karate Centre returned from the WMAC World Games with 92 medals (37 gold, 31 silver, 24 bronze).

Team Dojo consisted of all ages competing in their respective disciplines of karate kumite, kata, open forms, weapons forms, team kata, team forms, team weapons forms, kickboxing points fighting and kickboxing continuous fighting events.

Best performances were from Daniel Tarasevic, Jack Jolliffe (captain), Kai Sweeting, Chase Fernandez, Natalie Dean, Iqra Ishtiaq, Katie Eccles, Rick Ward, Hamza Ali, Mahnoor Ali and Ethan Hulse. Most Talented Athlete award among the 14-year-olds went to Team Dojo’s Daniel Tarasevic, who received the 2015 WMAC Championship Belt.

Sensei Irfan Ansari said: "I’m very proud of all the squad members because everyone performed so well. You know your coaching is working when coaches from other countries commend your students. However, as we say, there is always room for improvement."

"Team Dojo will now ease off competition participation to work more on personal skill development and belt progression as the off-season approaches.

"2015 has been an awesome year for Team Dojo."
