Adam Earnshaw's wins for the Greater Manchester Boxing Team

Date published: 02 December 2015

Hamer boxer Adam Earnshaw, representing the Greater Manchester Boxing Team, beat James Fearnley at the Park Lane Hotel, London on Friday 13 November.

The undefeated Fearnley, of Lansbury ABC, had a slight height advantage 12-year old-Earnshaw though both fighters weighed in at 33 kgs.

From the first bell Earnshaw made his intentions clear as he continually made Fearnley work on his defence.

Earnshaw used an effective jab to set up his combinations and uppercuts to take the first round.

Fearnely came out looking to take the fight to Earnshaw in the second round, however, the Earnshaw gave him limited options other than to work on his defence again as he controlled the round with telling blows to both the head and body whilst moving in and out of range with ease.

Earnshaw's slick footwork preventedt Fearnley from being able to counter and the Hamer boxer dominated the round.

In the third and fonal round Fearnley presented Earnshaw with a more testing contest as he continually stepped forward, throwing the more telling punches than the slightly fading Earnshaw as the long journey to London began to take its toll.

However, it was of limited effect Earnshaw wisely took to his footwork to evade most of Fearnley's work and although Fearnley edged the round, the damage was already done in the first two rounds and Earnshaw came away with a magnificent victory for the Greater Manchester Boxing Team.
