Nursery Expansion?
The pattern in recent years at Alkrington has been one where about half of the c. 60 children who come into our Reception classes have been to our Nursery. Staff notice that those who have been to our Nursery are generally better prepared to start school as they move up into Reception. Therefore we would like more of our Reception pupils to have spent their Nursery year with us too.

Our Nursery currently has a full time equivalent capacity of 26 children, although with the mix of full time and part time children we have around 35 children with us.
We are, therefore, investigating the possibility of increasing the capacity of our Nursery. We might take in more pupils. We might consider taking younger children. As part of making plans we welcome the views of parents who are in our younger classes in EY and KS1. They will find attached a questionnaire.

I would be grateful if you could fill it in and return to school by 3 October.
